So, in #evomc21, events might be announced here, or in Facebook, or on Discord, and / also / or on the Google calendar, depending on the preference of whomever is hosting the event. We will try to keep an updated list on all of these venues below.
Compiled listing of upcoming live events
Teacher Vance will attempt to consolidate events planned into this straightforward one-page chronlological listing where you can see at a glance what is happening day by day in case you are following one of the above spaces but have missed what's happening in another.
Any event that leaves a record of what happened there will also be archived on this page.
You can see archives of all such events in the sidebar at right from past EVO Minecraft MOOC sessions from 2015 through 2020 ==>
All #EVO2021 moderators and participants are welcome.
Please note that for #EVOMC21 participants there is a BBQ at Dak's place on the EVO Minecraft MOOC server coinciding with the start of this event at 1400 UTC but extending for an hour after the EVO session ends (or we slip out early, see you there 🙂.)
If you're considering participating in EVO Minecraft MOOC in 2021, please come to our Zoom meeting to enjoy a screencast from within Minecraft and learn about Discord and the other tools we'll be using in #evomc21.
If you miss it we'll post a recording in the 2021 Live Events Archive (below on this page)

Dark Knight is going to do part two of his redstone tutorial. Part one was on Monday, 2 November, 2020. Teacher Vance attended but did not record it, since I didn't have permission. and saw that the Minecraft app was being streamed into Discord.
That's when I learned that Discord doesn't do recordings. We'll be sure to record this one. It was great.
I only made these screenshots. It was hands-on and took place in this workshop space in Minecraft. We moved from challenge to challenge, and the last challenges were left to this second session. I hope Dark Knight will recap the first ones.
Further details forthcoming

Here, we were playing with streaming our game play through Discord.
Discord does not provide a way for streams to be recorded in Discord. Vance has since worked out how to record the live streams in Camtasia, tricky since it requires two computers, one to collect the stream and record it there, and the other to play Minecraft, if the person recording wants to be a player in the stream.
It would be possible to stream our gameplay live using this technique by using OBS (Open Broadcast Software). Discord streams live, but only on Discord, and only to the people who are in the Discord group where the stream is being broadcast. OBS could be used to simulcast that out live to a wider audience (and/or make a recording).
